The first album of Shishkin's engravings (6 lithographs) published under the title Studies from Nature in Pen on Stone. Summer: resides in the village of Konstantinovka near St. Petersburg, paints the pictures Let's Look for a Ford Instead of Crossing by Bridge and Pine Forest. September: goes to Yelabuga, then to Moscow to pay a visit to Perov. October 28: marries Vasilyev's sister Eugenia. Takes part in the Academy exhibition. December: is awarded the Order of St. Stanislav, third degree, for his achievements in painting.
